A couple thousand years ago, a huge flood covered the entire earth. Fancy math, scripture proof, etc., etc., we were all supposed to die yesterday.
I am a survivor.
My dad's birthday was yesterday. We celebrated with a Luau in my parent's dining room. I hadn't been to a Luau since Alexa Gilette's thirteenth birthday party, so I was quite excited.
My mom made a giant feast, and I ate enough to fill the tummies of a small village. {Even though I was only supposed to eat chicken and tomatoes that day. I'ma cheater. And a fad dieter.}
I love my dad, a lot. I know that's a really obvious statement, but I really do. He is an amazing man.
To honor his birth, here are my top five favorite things about my dear ol' dad.
1. My dad shines bright with the light of Christ. He is a worthy priesthood holder, and therefore has the authority to act in God's name. I was blessed to be raised in a home where I could go to my father, at any time, and receive a father's blessing. My testimony of the priesthood can largely be attributed to the way my father honored his priesthood.
2. My dad is smart. Like really, really smart. You can ask my dad about most any topic, and get an answer far more detailed than Wikipedia can offer.
3. My dad is funny. He says and does things only he can get away with. Ask him to tell you the joke about Nate the snake.
4. My dad is a hard worker. My dad provides for my family spiritually, temporally, and physically. He has always made sure that our family has what we need to be comfortable and happy.
5. My dad always has my back. He is my number one fan and supporter. He is a great father, and he takes his role as 'dad' very seriously.
Love you, Dad!

What a beautiful post! A great tribute to your dad.
Chelsea, Oh that all daughters had words like these for their dads. And that all dads had pure love and Christ-like leadership, like your father, for their daughters. What heartfelt words on your dad's birthday.
