Perfect in my Mind

Perfect in my Mind

I just want to tell you all:

Hi.
  • I'm getting married in eight days.
  • Finals are almost over.  I have one more tomorrow.  I really should be studying for it right now.
  • One of my loveliest friends is going to live in Brasil for a year and a half.  Serving the Lord.  I am so happy for her.  She has a bright spirit and a glorious countenance.  The people of Sao Paulo have huge blessings in store for them.
It is so strange to think about my life just one year ago.  Looking back, I'm not sure I really had a grasp on who I was.  I knew I was a daughter of God. I knew families could be together forever.  I knew Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that he restored the gospel in these the latter days.  I knew the Book of Mormon was true. But it was all very academic.  I'm not sure I felt it.

I never really doubted the things I knew to be true.  I definitely had a testimony--but it was different.  Throughout the better part of this year I have witnessed more fully the tender mercies of my Heavenly Father. I have come to know that even in our loneliest, darkest hour we are never alone.  His hand is stretched out still.  Our prayers are always answered--perhaps not the way we want, or the way we expect, but they are answered.  The Book of Mormon was truly inspired of the Lord.  The contents therein are for us.  Today.

Now I'm preparing to enter the Lord's house--to be sealed to my best friend for eternity.  Life seems to change so rapidly. But in a beautiful, and perfect way.

on a side note, my blog is different now.  Do you love?

Chelsea,

Words are hard to come by in telling you just how proud and pleased of you and James Annette and I are at this moment. Witnessing your wedding with family and friends brought such a peace and a sweet happiness to our hearts and knowing you will be such a dear and committed wife to our son gives us an amazing feeling. How could we have wished for a better daughter-in-law?! And your dear parents couldn't have been nicer and more supportive to us. We loved the gorgeous and so-well-adorned reception your family put on as well. Life is certainly a beautiful journey, especially when we follow the Savior and His perfect plan.

That is what I was thinking after you and James were sealed Saturday. It was absolutely a perfect ceremony and reminded me of the perfection I want to seek and have with my sweetheart, forever. We hope you both have a fun honeymoon and return safe and sound in a few days. Keep writing your feelings so well. They will become a valuable treasure to your children and grandchildren in future days.

With all our love and support,

Dad (and Mom) Trunnell
