Perfect in my Mind

Perfect in my Mind

Dear Valentine,

Yesterday I was looking through an old journal I had kept during my junior year of high school.  It was an interesting experience to look at 17 year old Chelsea, and to read what she had to say.  In the particular entry I read, I was contemplating an experience I had at my Junior Prom.  I didn't date a lot in high school, so when I did, I was careful to analyze what went right, and what went wrong.  After this date, I wrote out the qualities I wanted in a husband, based on what I had experienced up to that point.
(Most awkward dance photo of all time?) (Yes.)
My list looked like this:

Qualities I want in a Husband:
Loyalty, compassion, a strong testimony, unconditional love, intelligence, positive attitude, friendship, and good humor.
I want someone who would rather be with me than with anyone or anything else.
I want him to be someone who thinks I am beautiful inside and out.
I want to have a mutual respect between us, and I want him to make me want to be a better person.

Little did I know that three years later I would meet a man who would posess all of these qualities, a long with more I didn't even know I wanted.

I am so grateful for my wonderful husband.

Happy Valentine's Day, James!

That dance photo is classic! How fun you can look back in your journal and read things you want and now see what you have. Also, love the photo! :)

Love that red/white dress! You two are so cute! I totally remember writing future hubs quality lists in my journal (maybe it is something they teach us in YW?! ha). I am glad you got the qualities you were looking for! Happy Valentine's Day!

Amen sista! Isn't it great how husbands are better then we even dreamed of! I mean, I'm sure we didn't dream of them driving us crazy like they surely do but I sure still wouldn't change it! You two make a kick butt couple.

Pintrest has become what I was afraid it would become - a time consumer. Haha. However, I think that since the things I pin are either inspiration for outfits, recipes, dreams of decorating my future cottage, happy things that make me smile, quotes that keep me motivated...etc, than it is totally worth it. :D

I put that book on my to-read list on Goodreads now! Thanks!
