Lessons I've learned from Princess Jasmine

I was just a little girl when Aladdin was released.  I remember walking into the theater with my best friend's mom, armed with a kid's snack pack and my purple Princess Jasmine purse.  I also remember falling asleep part way through.  I've never been good at staying awake during movies.

In high school, I would always ask my date which Disney Princess he liked the best.  (I never had a boyfriend in high school . . . I wonder why?)  If the guy answered "Princess Jasmine," (which was approximately 87% of the time) I knew that he wasn't the one for me.

Boys seem to favor Jasmine.  Maybe because she is a major hottie.  Or maybe it's because she knows it.  However, Jasmine has never been my favorite princess.  Sure, as a little girl I thought she was pretty and I admired that she had a tiger and cute birds . . . but she never really seemed to do anything.  She wasn't smart.  She wasn't funny.  She didn't work for anything she had.  She was just a princess.

I have learned some things from Jasmine over the years, though.  I'm not sure if they're good or bad, but they are important:

  • If you don't marry for love, you will probably end up with a mind controlling psycho path.
Or, in other words, "You would be better off marrying a homeless bum than who your dad tells you to marry."
  • Stealing is wrong, even if you're trying to help someone.  And even if you're pretty.
  •  Don't leave your house.  Not even for a second.  Someone will try to chop off your hand, and your boyfriend will get arrested.
  • If your dad is short and dumpy, it doesn't mean you will be too.
  •  If you don't like a guy, just sick your tiger on him.
So . . . who is your favorite Disney Princess?

Sorry if it's Jasmine . . .

hahahahaha, I love this.
It's a toss up between Belle (she became a princess at the end right?) and Ariel. I was OBSSESED with The Little Mermaid when I was little. It was kind of embarassing. But then, I also had Beauty & the Beast panties.....

I love this post! I still love watching all of the old disney princess movies! shhh...don't tell anyone.

My favorite would have to be Belle. She is smart and has a huge heart and believes in the true potential of people. :)

Haha mine is Jasmine and has been since I was little :)..I just think she is strong and independent and follows her heart rather then do something because it is expected of her. Although she is a tad bit skanky :)

you are still one of the funniest bloggers I've ever cyber-met. Love your posts they always make me laugh! My favorite is Ariel.I even entered to win a Ariel treasure chest filled with Little Mermaid merchandise, and won! (one of the best days of my life) Belle gets a close second though. I think I just liked Ariel because she was a mermaid and I thought that was so enchanting as a kid lol. But as for morals and the best heart, Belle def wins! (I agree with you on never really liking Jasmine, Disney's sluttiest princess)

I had a poll on my blog last week which asked which is your fave princess and I was blown away by how much people loved Belle. I feel to Belle how you feel about Jasmine. I love Ariel and Jasmine though. haha

Why do all the princesses have short dumpy looking dads? What's the deal? If only they had a short dumpy looking princess, she would be my favorite for sure!! I love Belle because she loves to read and didn't go for the jock.

Without a doubt, Belle.

OH, how I have missed you and your posts!!! I am finally done traveling, packing, moving, and unpacking and back to blogging- yours was one of the first I went to. Oh my gosh, how hard I laughed at this!!! I think I need to frame it to cheer me up on bad days. "Maybe because she is a major hottie. Or maybe it's because she knows it." LOL! We are surely kindred spirits.

I love Cinderella! My first prom dress was a modern version of Cinderella's gown. No lie. AND her dad was tall and handsome. I'll never understand how he got mixed up with that mean step mom!!
