Down in the Dumps. Not literally. That's disgusting.

I'm in a bad mood right now.

Like, the kind when everything bugs you, for no apparent reason.

When you don't like anyone, because you don't like yourself.

I hate it.

So, what I'm going to do is list things to be thankful for.

My husband.  Mista T. is the sweetest, most patient man I've ever known.  Yeah, we argue like anyone else does . . . but none of them last too long.  He's too mature to fight with me.  He just says, "Sorry, babe."  Even if it was all my fault.  Lucky me.

My family.  I'm convinced I have the best one out there.  My mom lets me cry to her when I'm sad, or vent to her when I'm upset.  My dad always has my back if there's something wrong.  My siblings are hilarious.  And my in-laws treat me like I'm their own.  Lucky me.

The gospel.  I know that my Heavenly Father loves me.  He knows me.  There are angles watching over me, and a prophet who counsels and guides me.  Lucky me.

Our apartment.  It's teeny tiny, and sometimes has ants--but it is ours. It is (mostly) decorated how we want it.  It is peaceful.  It is our favorite place to be.  Lucky me.

My friends.  I am a bad friend, lately.  I don't call or text as much as I should.  But, I know that my friends will always be there for me if I need them.  And, hopefully, they know that I'll be there for them, too.  Lucky me.

My internship.  I love the feeling of being needed.  These oldies need me.  They love me, even if they don't remember who I am.  I can feel their love.

Disney movies.  My parent's let Mista T. and I borrow their VCR and classic Disney movies this weekend.  I never thought I'd watch a tape again . . . but Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King have all left my heart tingling and my face brightened.  Lucky me.

The little keyboard Mista T. is plunking on.  My little brother let us borrow his electric keyboard . . . and Mista T. has loved learning songs by ear.  I love how happy this gift makes him.  I love seeing my husband's smile.  Lucky me.

Air conditioning.  It has been getting kinda toasty around these parts.  I am so thankful to be able to flip a switch and have the room be cooler.  Lucky me.

Mista T.'s job(s).  When we were first married, Mista T. was working 60+ hours each week.  We hardly saw each other between his work and my school.  Now he's down to a regular schedule, and we can even spend the weekends together.  Lucky me.

That was magic. I was scowling before, and now I'm smiling.  Not joking.

Here's to a happier day!

I love your comments, Kristen! You are so sweet.

Yikes, there must be something in the air, huh? Maybe we need to hang out, in real life, and rectify the situation. Ha ha. If you have any time this week, lemme know! I would love to see your pretty little face.

This was a great post! You truly are blessed. Sometimes I have those days too...and then I count through all that I have to be lucky for and the little irritations seem to just not be so important anymore. Hope you have a wonderful week lovely! :) :)

Chelsea, we too are so grateful to have a daughter-in-law as good and sweet as you! Counting our blessings is the perfect way to bring us out of the doldrums and into the light of gratitude and productivity again. We are so looking forward to having you and James come see us and see our new family photos up on our walls. Whenever I see them now, I think of what a lucky man I am and what a beautiful family I have been given.

I love this Chelsea. . .Lucky me, I get to be your mom! I often think of a favorite hymn and remind myself the title isn't, "Count Your Crises," it's "Count Your Blessings!" Love you!~
