A hipster is someone who likes something before it's cool, and I am someone who likes something after it is cool. I guess you could say I start liking things when they stop being cool.
This is not intentional. I would probalby like cool things before they were cool, or while they were still cool . . . I just never hear about them until it is too late. Maybe it's because I don't watch television. Or maybe it's because I am inherently obvlious.
I don't listen to newly emerging, indie music.
I still listen to Savage Garden. I'm pretty sure they were cool in 1997.
I am not a vegetarian or vegan.
I tend to eat upwards of three donuts each week.
I don't own a Mac.
My laptop is old enough to be your mom.
I don't have a bike.
But I totally wish I did.
I haven't read the Hunger Games.
But I really want to. And I saw the movie.
I don't wear vintage clothing.
Unless you count clothes I used to wear in middle school.
You get the point.
I additionally, I found myself "trying" to be cool by typing "what is cool right now?" into Google.
I'm pretty sure that's the least cool thing a person could do.
This is just an observation. Feel free to move along with your day.
But, while you're moving along . . . maybe you'd like to go here and check out an interview I did for St. George Weddings. And, if you get a minute, read this too. I wrote an article for Alive! Utah on Street Style in Southern Utah.
Okay. Bye.
